Storm Number ???

The amount of snow we've this year is just nuts. I can not stress enough how over it I am already. We haven't had a winter like this in a long time, and at this point, if I never saw snow again, I would be a happy girl.

I made "snow day" fajitas to try and forget the piles of cold snow outside.

Just wish I had a corona to go with it.

Enough With The Snow

Mother Nature is being mean this year with all the snow she's been dumping on us.

We got hit hard overnight and the kids had no school. They didn't complain about staying home. Neither did I.  I'd rather have them home instead of a delayed opening or half day and having to go out in it.

My only complaint was for the poor puppies that had to go outside. I guess it's not too bad since they have so much fun in it. We make sure to towel them off when they come inside to warm them up.   Poor Riley gets it the worst.

Me? I just miss my flip flops.

Saturday Snow

We got more snow, and since we have nothing planned, it's a perfect day to finish packing up the Christmas decorations and get them into the crawl space.

Time to get the basement back to normal and more efficient. As always there's more to clear out. Might have to enlist the girls to help me with their things. There are loads of un-used toys that need to be packed or given away. I know with Marissa especially, that she hates to part with things and sometimes that's ok. We'll pack those things up and put them in storage. Other things however must go. Some to the trash and some to Goodwill.

As of last night, I finished our Disney trip in Project Life!  I pushed through it & cant wait to catch up with the rest of the year.  Now to get some decent light & take pics of those pages to share....

Snow Fun 2013

Woke up to a Winter Wonderland today.  Outside the sun was shining super bright.  It's a beautiful day.

Out the front window the icicles were hanging low.

The backyard was so pretty and pristine.  It wasn't going to stay that way long once the girls went out there.

I gave the girls a spray bottle filled with food coloring & water to decorate the snow.  Might be regretting that decision later on.

The girls built a fort.  I stayed inside where it was nice & warm.  Sadly they stood in the shade from the house so I didn't get the best pics...but I wasn't going out there.

My little Eskimo.

The girls always have fun being the first to slide down the snow covered slide.

Gianna happily played on the swings for a few minutes longer after Marissa had come inside.  She ended it with a great "ta-da" moment jumping off the swings, making sure I watched her daredevil act.

I'm just happy that the snow wasn't as bad as other parts that the snow hit.  I could live with the snow part (no other choice really), as long as we still have our power.  I'm still nervous anytime the word "storm" is mentioned.  Not getting over Sandy anytime soon.  Now that we've had our obligatory snow storm, I'm ready for SPRING!!

October Snowstorm

The weather forecasters were talking about us getting hit with a "Nor'Easter" today. Our area was supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow.....yes I said snow. In OCTOBER!!

Guess they were right.

Keeping this short since I'm blogging from my ipad while on the couch that's in my kitchen (we're painting the family room), oh and did I mention the power went out???

I'm dreaming of a white Halloween...

Snow Day!

Last night we got the call from school saying we'd have a snow day today. The funny part? It didn't stat snowing until today around 10:30! The girls were happy they got to stay home--especially Marissa!

This is a view of the backyard as the snow was still falling.....yes we hang a wreath from the girls playset.

These are our non-exsistent front steps. You can just make out the footprints the mailman left.

This is where our driveway normally is...
No I didn't let the girls out to play in the snow. One, I didn't want to take any chances with Gianna since she's been sorta sick. Two, I didn't want to deal with all the wet, cold, layers of snow clothes. Call me selfish but I don't have time for this!! As it is I've been catching up with my blog by manipulating the date. **GASP**!!! I know!! I didn't want to forget what's been going on this week.
Now I'm heading off to wrap presents in the hopes that this will be the year that I will be able to go to sleep at a reasonable time on Christmas Eve & not stay up all night wrapping.....not that that's ever happened (we don't discuss Christmas 2004).

Snow Fun

Yesterday I was forced -- completely unwillingly -- FORCED to go out in the cold cold snow!! And not only go OUT in the snow but I was expected to SHOVEL too! What the hell?? Joe totally guilted me into it--doesn't he remember that I am a delicate little flower?? So in case he didn't actually believe me that I actually went out to shovel I took pics as proof..... OOOPS!! OK-So there aren't pics of ME shoveling but take my word for it I did--honest!

By the time we were done shoveling it was time to shovel AGAIN! I think we went out too early because seriously I wasn't doing it again. And I didn't-dammit! The girls wanted to build a snowman but I have no talent - or patience for it. I am NOT a cold weather type of person what-so-ever! So after a feeble attempt to build a base for a snowman I gave up. I convinced the girls to make some snow angels & throw snowballs instead & they went for it! Then without shoveling again--and not feeling any guilt what-so-ever we went inside.

Today was Joe's turn to take the girls out. That man is like a little boy that hasn't grown up--gotta love him!! He was all "It's great packing snow" so I had to go out just for the pics factor. This is what he made....who says he's not creative??

Family pic!!
Then because all the girls have to do is mention they want something--he made Gianna her own smaller snowman. What a sucker!!

They have him so wrapped around their mittens....

Just to prove I really was out in the cold too....but this is as good as it gets--I have no make-up on--stay back!!
These are the trees we planted 7 years ago for privacy......They look so pretty covered in snow....And no one saw me without my makeup on....

Scrap-Buddy

I'm excited to announce that my sister Chet has expressed an interest in scrapping! That means I'll finally have someone to scrap with! YEAH!! I'm not much of a crop-goer only because I don't plan my LO's & I'd never know what to pack to take with me. I've always been an overpacker so I'd probably want to take ALL my stuff with me to a crop. So instead I've been going through my stash & giving her stuff & Melissa was nice to do a RAK & draw my name so all the fun stuff she sent is going to my sister. THANKS AGAIN MELISSA!!!

I've just about finished a mini album for Valentine's Day. Yeah I didn't finish it in time but it'll be ready for next year. I seem to do that a lot don't I? Oh well it's still Feb so I feel close enough. I have just 2 pics left to finish & I'll post pics.

It's snowing today & the schools are closed. We've got 5" already & it's still coming down. Joe expects me to go out & shovel the driveway before the ice starts falling. He stayed home later just to shovel the inital fall so I won't have lots to do he says & supposedly it's a light snow. Perfect for snowmen. Does it make me a horrible person to wish that my kids wouldn't feel like going outside to play in it? I have no desire to go out in the cold! But on the other hand they haven't had a good snow like this yet & they would make great pics for LO's (see how the scrapping mind works??). Too late!! Marissa already asked to go out.....as she was complaining that it was cold since I had the door open while I waved goodbye to Joe!

Oh the weather outside is FRIGHTFUL!

It really IS! Oh it looks pretty & innocent alright BUT it's a PAIN to drive in & shovel! Just for the record I DID help shovel... See my darling hubby? That's him shoveling BEFORE dinner!! Notice he's got his earpiece on? That's because the man can MULTI-TASK!!
This is my mountain climbing pioneer! She was so proud that she scaled the mountain! This is my jolly little elf. Her nose & cheeks were so rosy red!!
Here's a picturesque view of our house.

I'm playing with the camera settings & kinda like how this came out-even if it is a little yellow...

Have I ever mentioned how much I love snowmen?

Let it SNOW!!!

We woke up this morning to soft flurries dusting the yard. It looked so pretty but luckily didn't stick & is now only a memory.

The weekend went by so fast. Didn't do much. We did go to the movies & saw "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium". It was GREAT! Such a feel-good movie! The girls both enjoyed it & we all agreed to buy the DVD when it comes out! So enough of my Siskel & Ebert review........The rest of the weekend went nothing like planned. We did not pull out the Christmas decorations & do the outside of the house nor did my Mother come over (although we tried). So I guess I can say the weekend was relaxing. Now it's crunchtime -- Thanksgiving is 3 days away!!! What am I doing sitting here blogging when I've got a turkey to defrost!!!
