New Moon Date Night

OK so I had pretty much thought that I would not see New Moon opening weekend, nevermind opening night. See Joe had been gone most of last week for a convention in Vegas & was going to have to work hard to catch up. I figured it would happen just not sure when. I knew the priorities.....

Then Joe made the suggestion Saturday that we go if my sister could watch the girls. Luckily I have an AWESOME sister who was able to make the night happen. So I got to see it thanks to "My Edward"!!
and amazingly enough the theater wasn't CRAZY like last time. This time the people managed to keep their hormones in check until the 1st time Jacob took his shirt off.....then it was LOUD.

Hard to believe this is the same guy that played "Shark Boy". WOW did he grow up! I'm still Team Edward though...I'm a sucker for all the romance.

The girl next to me was fine until about halfway through the movie then she started whispering loudly & annoying me.
But all in all it was a good movie. Better done than Twilight, the special effects were AMAZING! And I found out Eclipse will be in theaters June 30th!! We won't have to wait as long between movies! HAPPINESS!!!

Wish List

I think I want this for Christmas....but in black.Joe's not keen on it but I told him it would be for my costume jewelry....and I'm a sucker for photo frames.

Thankful

I spotted this LO on the Jillibean Soup Blog awhile ago & knew I had to do a version of it. BUT I didn't have all the Jillibean papers (since then I've placed my order thank you!), so I decided to use my Bo Bunny Double Dot papers.

I really like how it came out & would like to display it for Thanksgiving...gonna work on that!

Thinking of You cards

After making this LO I realized I had plenty of scraps leftover to make a card....or three. I was in a "Thinking of You" sort of mood after making the LO about my Dad even though I had originally set out to do birthday cards for guys. Go figure!

Wishing my embossing had come out cleaner on this one.....
After making the LO & 3 cards this was what I had left.....might even have enough for another card! ;) Love when I don't have scraps to put away for "someday" & really get a lot of mileage out of the papers.

Miss You

I was inspired the other day by this pic of my Dad & scrapped it right away. This went together so fast. I had it all done in about an hour except for the journaling but that didn't take long either just had to find the time to write it down.

Found this paper by SEI in my stash & went with it. It felt good to scrap this of my Dad.

Miss Him

15 years ago today we lost my Dad to Lung Cancer. He was a wonderful father who was adored by his girls. There are so many things that changed when he passed, our lives were forever altered.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of him in some way. I miss him terribly & wish he could've met his 6 beautiful grandchildren. He would have adored & spoiled them all.

Miss you Daddy.

More Halloween!

Like I said in my last post, I've got all my Halloween stuff out so I might as well put it to use instead of cleaning it up.

This is Gianna's 1st Halloween. She was just 4 months old so tiny!! At the time she was very fair skinned & somehow we thought she'd go through a blond phase like me {yes I was blond for a short time when I was very young!!} so we (I) decided to dress her as Cinderella for Halloween.

I was going to use Nichol's sketch on these but then I realized there weren't enough pics printed & I wasn't in the mood to print more so I trimmed them to fit until they looked good (that's a Laura technique!!)

Still using KI Memories papers--I bought a TON of that orange paper!! I love it but never realized HOW MUCH I stocked up on!!

Still more Halloween

So yes I went from posting something Thanksgiving related to Halloween. I'm still in a Fall frame of mind, not ready to move on to Christmas.

It's not like my TWO neighbors that ALREADY put up their outdoor CHRISTMAS decorations!! (although knowing my luck when I go to put out my decorations it'll probably be COLD)

And yes, I'm still playing with old Halloween pics. It's just that I have all my Halloween embellies & things out & PLENTY of pics to scrap....besides Nichol's sketch makes it super easy to do!!

Missed the deadline on 2P's for posting this one but I don't care much. I often wonder why I still bother posting there at all anymore, except to keep all my LO's in 1 gallery. Anyone else feel the same?? Still love browing the gallery for inspiration but it's not the same anymore, KWIM?

Give Thanks

I had bought this K & Co. banner kit from either Michael's or Target on clearance last year but never got around to putting it together. Luckily this year I came across it in time & quickly put it together.

Then I thought "It needed something."

So I pulled out some trusty Bo Bunny Dotted paper in brown & cut a square to attach to the back to make the letters stand out more.

I'm still thinking about attaching something to the sides but it's up & for now I'm calling it done!

My Today

Ok so it's not "today" but it was the other day. Figured since it was close to Halloween I'd use Halloween colors.

And of course used my trusty Cuttlebug to emboss the cardstock. Believe it or not I actually broke the "C" plate to my Cuttlebug (using my QK dies).....guess I use it a lot??? Has this happened to anyone else?? Of course Michael's doesn't have it in stock so I had to order it online.

Lifted myself, lifting Laura. And go check out her blog, my friend is on the CK Design team!! Go congratulate her!!

Ready for Treats

Here's another LO based on Nichol's sketch for the Celebrate the Seasons class on 2P's. Except this time I made it as a single page rather than a double.

I love these classes! She makes it super easy to follow with her how-to videos. I need to go back & work on a few months that I've skipped. But first I have a TON of past Halloween pics that this sketch will help me play catch up!!

These pics were taken the same day as this LO. I had printed them ages ago when I felt compelled to scrap almost everything. Nowadays this wouldn't happen but like I said they were already printed so I'm putting them to paper. Got that?

I used all the same products as the last LO...Sorry for the glare. Need to re-take this.

(Boo)tiful Princess

Sure Halloween may be over but I'm squeezing in a Halloween LO.

Made this for the 2P's Celebrate the Seasons class. Nichol's got some inspiring work that made me pull out some older Halloween pics to play with.

Marissa was in her 1st year of pre-school & was just 3 years old. So little!!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!!

It's not the nicest Halloween we've had but at least it's not really cold.

We figured we'd go out early to the apartment complex in town since the weather was iffy. We got our group of friends & hit the streets around 12:30. Not every house was ready for us but the kids got a decent bag of loot. This was our group of kids, Marissa's BFF her brother & his friend.Just the ladies.....Later on we met up aith another of Marissa's friends & her sister (Gianna's BFF).After about 2 hours we headed home for a late lunch before heading out again.

By the time we were ready to go back out it had started to drizzle steadily. It wasn't too bad so we headed out.
Sorta mad at myself for not taking pics before heading out this morning. I had curled Gianna's hair & it looked so "Belle-like"....sigh.....We didn't even finish our block before the rain came down heavier so we just called it quits. It wasn't the greatest Halloween but the kids are still happy with her loot! ;)

Hope everyone had a safe & fun Halloween!!

Halloween Parties

Things have been a bit crazy around here lately. I was trying to co-ordinate with the girls' class mom's for their Halloween parties. I had signed up to do games for Marissa's class & treats for Gianna's class. These drove me crazy!

Number 1, this year the school did away with "sugary treats" & things had to be "healthy". Well everything healthy except for grapes (give or take a few things) Gianna won't eat PLUS I was trying to theme it to Halloween somehow. Finally narrowed it down to popcorn hands (which Gianna would eat ALL the time if I let her). Found the pre-printed gloves at Party City & added the creepy rings to the fingers.
THEN I find out we ARE allowed ONE baked item so Gianna chose brownies. BUT before the party the mix has to be approved by the school nurse to make sure no one in the class is allergic to the ingredients. WOW. It's nothing like when we were kids!! Anyone else go through this sort of thing?

Gianna as Belle from Beauty & the Beast
For Marissa's class I had to come up with games to play, so me & another mom put our heads together for those. I found something that sounded fun & modified it a bit (it involved cooked spaghetti & peeled grapes--ick). There was a lot of prep work but it was well worth it since the kids had so much fun playing it! **patting myself on the back**

Hope everyone has a fun & safe Halloween!!

Pumpkin Picking 2009

Today we finally got the chance to go pick our pumpkins. We've either had other commitments or the weather was too crappy to go. I was starting to think we'd be pumpkin-less this year!

We like to go to the same farm we've been going to since Marissa was a baby. Not sure why exactly, I'm sure we all have our reasons but we all agreed we wanted to go to this farm.

Marissa chose a good size pumpkin. Not too big but not too small. I was tring to steer them to smaller pumpkins since the season is almost over & we don't make pumpkin pie--despite Gianna telling me I had to (NONE of us eat it!!) I could not get a decent pic of Marissa looking at the camera. **sigh** Gianna wanted a pumpkin she could carry this year. It's just her size.Love this shot, Marissa had no idea Gianna was in the shot with her! LOL!Finally she managed to look into the lens!
This little stinker wanted a pic with the yellow flowers but this was all I got. Go figure! I think it's still cute though. It's so her. Checking to see "How tall this Fall" they were. Marissa came in just over 4 ft, but rounded up saying she's almost 5', had to break the news to her that she's NOT. I told her she's much closer to 4 1/2 ft. & not to rush her life away by growing so fast!!

We had a beautiful day considering the day before it just rained all day. It was so good to get outside....now to get these pics scrapped!!
