Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!!

It's not the nicest Halloween we've had but at least it's not really cold.

We figured we'd go out early to the apartment complex in town since the weather was iffy. We got our group of friends & hit the streets around 12:30. Not every house was ready for us but the kids got a decent bag of loot. This was our group of kids, Marissa's BFF her brother & his friend.Just the ladies.....Later on we met up aith another of Marissa's friends & her sister (Gianna's BFF).After about 2 hours we headed home for a late lunch before heading out again.

By the time we were ready to go back out it had started to drizzle steadily. It wasn't too bad so we headed out.
Sorta mad at myself for not taking pics before heading out this morning. I had curled Gianna's hair & it looked so "Belle-like"....sigh.....We didn't even finish our block before the rain came down heavier so we just called it quits. It wasn't the greatest Halloween but the kids are still happy with her loot! ;)

Hope everyone had a safe & fun Halloween!!

Halloween Parties

Things have been a bit crazy around here lately. I was trying to co-ordinate with the girls' class mom's for their Halloween parties. I had signed up to do games for Marissa's class & treats for Gianna's class. These drove me crazy!

Number 1, this year the school did away with "sugary treats" & things had to be "healthy". Well everything healthy except for grapes (give or take a few things) Gianna won't eat PLUS I was trying to theme it to Halloween somehow. Finally narrowed it down to popcorn hands (which Gianna would eat ALL the time if I let her). Found the pre-printed gloves at Party City & added the creepy rings to the fingers.
THEN I find out we ARE allowed ONE baked item so Gianna chose brownies. BUT before the party the mix has to be approved by the school nurse to make sure no one in the class is allergic to the ingredients. WOW. It's nothing like when we were kids!! Anyone else go through this sort of thing?

For Marissa's class I had to come up with games to play, so me & another mom put our heads together for those. I found something that sounded fun & modified it a bit (it involved cooked spaghetti & peeled grapes--ick). There was a lot of prep work but it was well worth it since the kids had so much fun playing it! **patting myself on the back**

Hope everyone has a fun & safe Halloween!!

Pumpkin Picking 2009

Today we finally got the chance to go pick our pumpkins. We've either had other commitments or the weather was too crappy to go. I was starting to think we'd be pumpkin-less this year!

We like to go to the same farm we've been going to since Marissa was a baby. Not sure why exactly, I'm sure we all have our reasons but we all agreed we wanted to go to this farm.

Marissa chose a good size pumpkin. Not too big but not too small. I was tring to steer them to smaller pumpkins since the season is almost over & we don't make pumpkin pie--despite Gianna telling me I had to (NONE of us eat it!!) I could not get a decent pic of Marissa looking at the camera. **sigh** Gianna wanted a pumpkin she could carry this year. It's just her size.Love this shot, Marissa had no idea Gianna was in the shot with her! LOL!Finally she managed to look into the lens!
This little stinker wanted a pic with the yellow flowers but this was all I got. Go figure! I think it's still cute though. It's so her. Checking to see "How tall this Fall" they were. Marissa came in just over 4 ft, but rounded up saying she's almost 5', had to break the news to her that she's NOT. I told her she's much closer to 4 1/2 ft. & not to rush her life away by growing so fast!!

We had a beautiful day considering the day before it just rained all day. It was so good to get outside....now to get these pics scrapped!!

Hey Pumpkin!

Going through my embossing folders, I found this pumpkin one & had the urge to make a card with it.

I made a window using a square punch then framed it with two Scalloped punches. Added a pumpkin & some bling to dress it up.

Card Set

I've been on a card kick lately. Saw this card in the Paper Crafts Magazine "225 Cards & Gifts" issue by Kimberly Crawford. I immediately pulled out some paper & got to work!

Oh & I should clarify to say that I made about 6 of these cards all from 1 sheet of patterned paper....yet they all look the same therefor I only posted one! I think I've finally got the itch to work on a LO again! YEAH!!! I pulled out some pics last night to play with....

Fabulous

I got this idea from the Nov CK.... Realized I had a lot (A TON) of ribbons & could easily make something like this. Nice & easy!
Added some gems & pop dots & called it done! I think making more of these could seriously help clean up my collection of ribbons! It's not even funny how many I have!

Get Your Witch On!!

While in card making mode I got into the Halloween spirit & made a Halloween card.

Very quick. Very easy. Just simple.
I punched tiny holes in the purple square to show the green underneath but it's hard to see in the pic.

You Spin Me Round

I saw this pic of Joe on my screensaver & loved how carefree he looked. No it's not the best pic in the world--it's blurry--I know! The look on his face sold me & I printed it out.

I knew right away that I wanted some sort of circle in the design & remembered seeing a Halloween LO of Ginger Williams in a Newsletter .

The journaling swirled around my mind & it oringinally was in a different direction than were it ended. In my mind I was thinking things sorta mushy & sweet, but as I typed it this is what it turned into....

To tell the truth I had started this LO before we left for Disney. I picked out my papers & that's as far as I got before I had to focus on packing. Once we were back home I ended up playing around with this a few minutes here & there. It just took me forever to take pics of it to share--story of my life lately!!

Apples & a Tooth

Today we went apple picking. We 1st went 2 yrs ago & everyone had a great time. Somehow or another we missed it last year but we made sure to go this year. We went to the same orchard about 45-50 mins away. Sat in some traffic since it was a beautiful day out & everyone must have been out to enjoy it, but it was worth it!
Told them to all take a bite....Me & the apples of my eye!Marissa & her tasty treat. This chickie was really digging her apple.

After we picked our apples we stopped at a diner sort of place for dinner. Never ate there before but the parking lot was full & looked busy. Figuring this could be a "Diner, Drive-In & Dive" sort of place we took a chance. Turned out it was good! Will definately be eating there again!

So, um when we got there & read the menu board, I was telling the girls what their options were. Gianna decided pretty quick (hot dog) but as she told me I noticed her mouth looked different. She LOST her FIRST TOOTH!!

She hadn't even told me it was wiggly so I never thought to be careful with the apples. It must've come out during her afternoon apple, and um she must've ATE it!!! This made me a little sad that my baby wouldn't have her 1st tooth to leave for the tooth fairy under her pillow. Gianna took it with a grain of salt & just said "we'll leave her a note". Easy peasy!!

Little Princess

I don't know about anyone else but when I need inpsiration for ideas I usually head over to Laura's blog. I found this card of hers & realized I had a lot of the same stuff in my stash {give or take} to make it.

I am so into brown & pink lately that it's just not funny!

When I shop for the girls my eyes are drawn to brown with bursts of colors mixed with it. It's funny since up until a short while ago the girls would mostly only wear pink & purple. I slowly started adding browns & while orginally they wouldn't wear it, now they don't mind at all!

You Make My Heart Happy

I've noticed that I never have cards for Joe when I need them, so I made this one with him in mind.

I am having so much fun with this stamp!! I don't even put it away anywhere--just keep it on my desk for inspiration.

Flower Power

I made these cards in no time last Friday. (Yes it's taken me a week to post!) It helped that I had a ton of these flowers already stamped & cut out just sitting in my drawer.

It started out with just one card but then I realized how many I had & in different colors so I kept going. When I say different colors I mean just the three here! LOL!!

I might even make a few more to make as a gift set or something....since I like to make them but never get around to using them!

Always in my Heart

It's been ages since I created something. I had no motivation all Summer. I should have but I didn't. Go figure.

Friday night I was determined to create.

Something. Anything!

Since Saturday was "World Card Making Day", I figured I could start with a card to get the mojo moving. So I grabbed my most favorite stamp & got on it!

Believe it or not making the card got the mojo flowing & I made a few cards.....but I'll share those soon! ;)

Think Pink

Last week a package came to the house marked fragile. Not expecting anything I checked where it came from & it said "Scrapbook.com". I hadn't ordered anything recently (shocking, I know) but when I checked it was addressed to JOE!

This is what I think it is...... I had told him that all I want for Christmas is the Slice & the assorted design cards. He asked me a few questions about it & about a week later I saw the box. It doesn't help that today he asked me which design cards I wanted.

My answer was "All of them.", come on I HAD to say it!!

So he said to make a list of the ones I really wanted in order of importance. This is what I came up with.... (just not in an order)

Basic Shapes 1
Basic Shapes 2
Basic Shapes 3
Studio Essentials
Fonts
Noteworthy
Word Expression Holiday
Spellbound
Spook Alley
Fa La La

Mistletoe
Mix & Mingle
Think Pink

Now my question(s) is this....are these the ones I should be asking for??

Are they a "Must Have"??

And the most important question is....

Did I miss any "Important" cards?? **wink wink**
