Great Wolf Lodge Album

Going through the Simple Scrapbooks magazine Jan/Feb 2009 issue (which is sadly not around much longer), I was inspired to try this --"Scrap 40 pics in 4 hours" by Stacy Julian (pg. 65) . I was motivated to do this album since the stack of pics was sitting on my desk. I realized I had more than 40 pics & I also changed it up to 8x8 size instead of the 6x6 size they did in the magazine.

Then I figured I could do the cover like Nichol Magouirk, you can see it here. Which has inspired both Laura & Carla to try too. You can see Laura's album here, & Carla's version here.

Here's mine....I left it on the plain side since --
1. I thought it would be more Cabin/Woodsy like style.
2. I was done with the album & wanted it done.

Then I used an assortment of Basic Grey papers, assorted ribbons & brads & of course string!

Technically, these are single 8x8 LO's & only a few are done as doubles. I only took pics of them as doubles to make the post shorter--if that's possible!

Snuck in some embossing using my Cuttlebug too!

Kept to a few designs that I used over & over. But I like that it's done & in 1 album. Might make a few 12x12 size with some pics but for now I'm done!! WOO-HOO!!!

Used:
Patterened paper: Basic Grey, KI Memories, Junkitz
Ribbon: assorted from Michael's
String: DMC embroidery floss
Brads: Making Memories
Buttons: Assorted
Punches: Stampin Up Scallop punch
Cuttlebug Embossing folders

this is seriously awesome! how good does it feel to get all these photo done and in a completed album?!?! this is totally my kind of vacation album. and i do it the same way. get the all done and in one easy place ... and if i want to do a 12x12 layout later, so be it. but otherwise, good to have them taken care of. and LOVE your cover!

Great job on the album! I have so many events such as this that need to be scrapped. But that is the story of a scrapper's life...never caught up, right? Enjoyed visiting your blog!
