Happy Valentine's Day!

Made this card for Joe & he loved it! He told me that he takes the cards I make around with him. Come on say it with me...Aawwwww!! Yeah he knows how to melt me! ;)

Hope you have a great day full of love!!

ETA: Was inspired to make this card from THIS BLOG. I knew right away that I was going to lift it. ;)

Heart Banner

As I was going through some blogs today I came across THIS one & saw this adorable heart banner. Something sparked in me & I pulled out some paper scraps & got to it.

I made mine without the pics because it's 3 days before Valentine's Day & I wanted to actually complete something I started. I've currently got 5 projects all started on my desk but nothing completed. It's like I've got creative ADD or something....

Quick & easy to do! Just make sure you measure your holes for the ribbon all at the same time so they don't come out all wonky like mine.... ;)

Valentine Frames

What would the 1st of February be without hearts?

I was on an IKEA run a few weeks ago when I saw these frames. Not knowing what I was going to do with them yet I bought 2 white & 2 black frames. Of course within a few days I figured it out. I had seen this frame on Ali Edwards' blog awhile ago, knowing I wanted to make one. It's perfect for all the scraps of pretty papers I can't bear to toss or are too small for cards.

I used the larger Swiss Dots embossing folder (sorry no link). I think it comes a close second to the original swiss dots folder. It's a larger size 5x7 I think & the dots are bit bigger as well. LOVE!! The hearts were punched with my Martha Stewart Heart punch & I just pulled out random scraps of papers that looked good together.

The Pink one...

The Red one....
Of course now that I used these I wish I had bought more frames. But that just means another IKEA run!!

Valentine Banner

On a trip to Michael's I found some goodies to play with.

Started with these.....

Made this..... (hard to take a decent pic of--sorry)

This is similar to THIS banner I made awhile back. I had hung the banner before I pulled out the Valentine decorations so I'm not feeling the red hearts below the banner....might be moving the banner.

The inside of the "O"'s were missing so I improvised with a few jewels. (I backed the letters with Bo Bunny Double dot in "Blush"--I have a huge stack of these papers & will be sorry when I run out.) :(

And these just looked cute so I added them along with the pink balls in between each word. (They weren't part of the banner kit.)

Love is officially in the air!

Be My Valentine & Cards

This year I am on the ball & made Valentine cards BEFORE Valentine's Day.

Shocking!! I know! Since I usually get inspired after the holiday to work on holiday stuff! What can I say?? Better late than never!!

I wanted to play around with some stamps since I buy them like crazy but don't use them as much as I should.

I took a heart from this stamp set & stamped it with embossing ink then used the Zing! embossing powders on them. Easy peasy!! The colors look so much better IRL though.

This is Gianna's card sine she likes pink.Did the same thing here (the pic came out slightly better) But this is Marissa's card...she likes red.Joe & I never give each other just 1 card for any occassion. (call us crazy!!) So this is just one of the cards he'll be getting from me. Did the same as above but used this Hero Arts stamp set.
For this card I used part of this stamp set to go along with this one. Aren't the monkeys cute? I didn't take a pic of the inside of the card but it says "I'm bananas about you!".
And yes I got a little lazy about cutting out the tails.... ;)
I got this cute stamp recently & purposely left it on my desk so I would use it for Valentine's day.
Also used these alpha stamps for the saying....my "F" is wonky I know...
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!
XOXOXO

Spoiled!

Let me just start off by showing you the cute quickly decorated cupcakes I made Joe for his birthday. I made his favorite-French Vanilla cupcakes. Notice I used my cake stand/chip & dip holder from Target?? I found these marshmallow hearts at the supermarket & thought they'd look cute on cupcakes. Guess what? I was right--they DO look cute! But that's all they do is LOOK cute they smell & taste AWFUL! So after Joe tried one I pulled off the marshmallows & tossed them out. Oh well. On Wed I got a special delivery (that I knew was coming). Joe knew my Thursday was going to be hectic (& it was) so asked the florist to deliver these a day early. He spoils us all!!!

Sorry it's a terrible pic but the snow was bright outside. I could've faced the other direction to take the pic but my kitchen was a mess so I opted for the dark pic!! LOL!!
He finally understands that while yes red roses are beautiful & symbolize love they are not my favorite. So he modified his order & sent my favorite--purple!!!
This is from Gianna's class party that another mom (whom I don't know her name) kindly offered to take my pic with the girls. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Right after the party we bolted outta there to get to Joe's shop. He bought tickets to take us to see "Hannah Montana's" 3D concert movie. The girls were super excited!!! I must say that I think she's adorable & I like the music so I had fun too! I had Gianna sitting on my lap towards the end & she was bopping to the music while I bounced her on my knee so to those of you sitting behind us-Hope you liked the extra little show!! Afterwards for dinner we were short of options on where to go eat without waiting an eternity, so we figured we'd get seated quickly if we went to Hooter's & we were right. Sure it's not romantic but I'm easy to please!

When we finally got home we exchanged cards & gifts & then snapped some pics -- of course! Marissa took this one pretty good. I kept nudging Joe in the back to smile & he made this face! Love him!
Here's my tired but happy family before getting sent to bed. I just love them!!
Tomorrow we're having family & friends over for cake & coffee to celebrate Joe's birthday. I'm off to clean my messy house but not before I register my girls' new Webkinz! Talk about Priorities!!
