Project Life Catch Up

I've been catching up on Project Life since we came back from vacation in August. Our trip pics took forever.  I've currently made more of an effort to keep it simple to catch up faster so I'm hoping to get there soon.

I try to not overwhelm myself and only print a weeks worth of pics at a time.

Just sorta frustrated that I'm so behind on this year already!

Shake Shack Date

Earlier this week as I drove home from a further Jo-Ann's than normal (had to get the Project Life Kiwi Kit!!), I noticed a Shake Shack and immediately told Joe we needed to go.  I have been dying to try their food thanks to all of Kelly Purkey's posts.  I had mentioned to Joe how I wanted to go into the city for just that reason, but he wasn't buying into my plan.  Luckily, now that it's in Jersey, he was easily swayed.

He made some time during his day and we had a lunch date.  It was great to be able to spend some one on one time with him.  We don't have many dates nights lately, so this was perfect.

We both loved our burgers.  The fries were ok, nothing fantastic.  I had a chocolate milkshake, that was too chocolately for me (when did that happen??), but was good.

The best part was really just the "us" time.

Operation Pack & Purge

You know things are bad in a playroom when you can't walk through the room without stepping over things.

I had asked the girls if they still played with some of this stuff and they gave me a list of what could be packed to save, purged to goodwill, or trashed.

Barbies were to be packed. I tried to keep all "sets" from movies together, with help from Gianna.

All the Disney Princess dolls were packed as well. **sigh**

They also wanted their Strawberry Shortcake dolls, My Little Ponies and Littlest Pet Shop packed too. Hopefully someday they will be passed on to their kids to play with.

Still working on the room. But progress has been made and that makes me happy.

Officially Ours

Today we made things official and brought home puppy number 3. We also chose her name after realizing it's been on our list of names since our puppy search began in September.

Her name is Emma.

She has the sweetest disposition but holds her own with the older puppies. We love her!

Birthday Celebration

When my birthday was getting closer, I made sure Joe knew, that I did NOT want ANY sort of surprise party.  In fact, if my family planned anything he was to tell them no.  I am not a surprise kind of girl.  I don't like a lot of attention.  I don't mind making a fool of myself, but the spotlight directly on me?  No thanks.

My sister offered to make me a birthday dinner at her house, and while that would be perfect, I mentioned to Joe how I'd like a dinner out at a Hibachi restaurant that just opened and we all like.  He liked the idea and took care of the details.

My sisters, had other plans.  They came bearing wands, boas, sashes, blinkie buttons, balloons and a tiara.  Subtle.

I was a good sport (despite Joe's initial thought that I was going to flip out) and wore it all for a few pictures. Then it went in my purse.  LOL!

I did wear the sash, but the balloons made sure how decrepit I was now.  This is me trying to catch the zucchini the chef was tossing at me.  I will never be a champion Frisbee player, catching is not my thing.

All in all it was a great night.

I am officially forty.

He Can Hear You Now

Joe had a follow up visit today at the Dr. to test his hearing after all his treatments. The Dr was amazed at his progress! He got back 80% of his hearing! It could still come back more, but for now, it's come so far! He responded so well to the aggressive treatment!

Joe is over the moon estactic! He's had so much happen to his health in the last year, that he knows this is it, he needs to slow down.  Looking forward to less stress and lots of changes for him. Here's to a great rest of the year!!!

The Big Four O!

Today is the first day of my forties.

Man that just doesn't feel right.  I don't feel forty.  It might sound crazy but high school wasn't that long ago.  Right??  Oh well.  I know it's just a number.  It doesn't mean anything, really.  It just seems weird.

Joe had his MRI today for his hearing.  While I had fully intended on going with him, he refused to have me there.  Following he had another Dr appt. for his last cortisone shots.  (He was told the MRI was all clear!! Happy Birthday to ME!)

So I made a point to stay busy, but try to enjoy the day at the same time.  Not the easiest, but I tried.

Joe, of course, sent me a beautiful arrangement of flowers.

For dinner we went to Outback....Marissa had CCD so we celebrated quickly.  Being that it was also Ash Wednesday, we didn't start off on the right foot, but it was my 40th birthday so I hope it's ok.

I told Joe I did not want a cake, so he brought me pastries instead.  He knows how to break my willpower...not that I have much to begin with!

Of course, no celebration would be complete without pictures with my loves.

Marissa didn't want her picture taken with her ashes but I made her.

Me with my love.

The day ended wonderfully.  Joe even got me a typewriter that I've been rambling about!  He went overboard as always and got me something much fancier than I would have chosen but it's great!  Good news from the doctor and now this.  I'd say my forties started off great!

Puppy Number 3

Yep, we did. Again!

We had to visit the breeder for dog food and Joe needed a puppy fix. With everything going on with his ear, playing with small puppies can make anyone happy.

We immediately fell in love with this little girl. After having to give up Annie, back in January, there was no way I'd say no to Joe's request, Especially now.

We even got to bring her home overnight (she's just 10 weeks old, we can bring her home at 12 weeks) to get her used to her surroundings. So hard to believe Riley and Piper were that small! She's so tiny and sweet!

Can't wait to bring her home for good!  Now to pick a name...
