Vacation Memories Thru Instagram Mini-Album

On our trip to Florida in August 2011, I shared A LOT of our trip through Instagram.  I had a lot of pics that weren't "just Disney".  They showed all the fun stuff we did and it wasn't just characters from the park. I printed them all out and had an idea in mind to make an Instagram mini-album, using my captions from Instagram as my journaling (maybe slightly modified).  Of course, life got in the way and the album got pushed aside. 

I had just finished catching up on my Project Life album, when I came across the pics and the album I set aside  for it & decided to go for it.  I was inspired to get it done.  I soon realized, that I was getting the pages done quicker than I thought, which inspired me even more to finish it.

While the cover shows that it's mostly Disney World, we also snuck out to Sea World for the first time & those pics are included in this album, that's why I added the wave.... ; )

The best part was how thin I managed to keep the album! I've never made an album SO thin!  I stuck to a lot of stamping, Silhouette Cameo cuts, punches, labels & washi tape (of course!) to keep the bulk to a minimum, but was still surprised at how thin it was!

                                          

I had no plan for the album.  I just tried to keep all the similar pics together on a page.  At first I thought about just slapping the pics in "Smashbook" style.  While there's nothing wrong with that, that's not my style and you can see how the first few pages are much different from the rest of the album. 

 

I eventually noticed that I slowly happened to design the pages in a more grid design.

I took a TON of pics at Sea World but didn't Instagram then all. 

On this page I "cheated" a little.  I snuck in a few shots weren't on Instagram, but just went with it.  Don't tell anyone. ; ) HA!

The last page is very simple & plain but I like it.  The only thing I left out of the album was the date.  I realized it after taking the pics, so I'll just go back & add it late.  No big. 

The album shows that while you're at "Disney World", there's SO much more to see & do than what most people expect.

Thanks to my phone I've been doing my own daily pics.

I'm hoping to turn these into a mini-album or LO at the end of the year.
I'll play it by ear. ;)

Zonko's Back!

Shortly after Thanksgiving, our Elf, Zonko, came back to visit. He's been all over the place!

The best part of his visits? The girls jump out of bed in the morning to find him! ;)

Took a picture every day this month. Some are more random than others but it's the everyday.

I downloaded this app in August & gave it a try while we were at Disney, but since I didn't start at the beginning of the month I never shared it. This month I manged to take a pic everyday of the everyday. It's got a spot for a little journaling as well--gotta love that. If I managed to do this for a year I could totally see this as a mini album....something to think about. ;)

Sassy Swinger

In case it's gone un-noticed, I've been taking a lot of pics lately with my iphone.

These pics were totally un-planned, which is why I love them. Gianna & I were just hanging outside while she was on the swings & I started playing with the Photobooth app on my phone.

Being the stinker she is, she started being all sassy. I got pics of her dirty little feet, & blurred shots but truth be told...this IS Gianna! (Except the dirty feet, not true all the time. HA!)
I used Echo Park for this & the colors are so much better IRL. The title letters are Doodlebug. Very simple LO, but the moment is captured & scrapped. Happiness. ;)

Summertime

Today while they splashed I worked on going through my old scrapping magazines. I'm behind from 2008, but I'll get caught up!

Now to make the requested lasagna for dinner!

Working Hard

With the Summer approaching (not fast enough for us), the girls have been realizing that part of their Summer will be spent with me at work.

Before you go feeling sorry for them, it's just 2 days a week. A few hours each day. Wed. is the longer day but even then we're out by 1pm usually. Thurs is even earlier. Like I said don't feel sorry for them. They have fun. Sometimes if Joe has an extra video game not on location, he'll let them play. They also bring their Nintendo DSi's & books. They can keep busy.

With that said I was going through some of the pics from my iphone & came across these. I knew how I wanted to scrap them. First I used the Instagram app on my iphone to brighten them up. I printed them out & trimmed them to fit the Say Cheese stamp. (Can I just say how much I LOVE that stamp??) I used all Jillibean Soup on here including the Coredinations cardstock. I have to admit-it was my 1st time using it, & I love the contrast & the feel of the paper after sanding it After making the 1st one, I realized I had to make another. I try to be fair for each girls' album, especially if they're both in the pic, then try to mix it up so they don't look exactly alike. Used all Jillibean Soup for this too.And those tiny mini tags are an old QK die that I had in my stash. I love how these turned out. I think I'll be scrapping more of my iphone pics in the future!

Leaving On A Jet Plane...

We're all packed & ready to head back home. Sorta sad but I'll be happy to sleep in my own bed tonight. Time to get the last few details together for the girls to start school this week. Where did the summer go??

Pool Weather

Hanging by the pool today.....taking it easy....loving the quiet while Joe takes the girls down the waterslide. Wishing the lady in a thong would move from my view (no picture of that....not that she can't pull it off....I sorta wish I had her body.). Enjoying the last few days of vacation.....see you soon!!
